Since 2020 we have been working with colleagues in the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) to produce a quarterly email publication titled the Transfusion Evidence Round Up. At the ISBT Regional Congress meeting in Perth, Australia, this collaboration were presented with an ISBT award. The award was presented for the Transfusion Evidence Round Up Team’s “remarkable achievements in developing and leading the Transfusion Evidence Round-Up , a widely valued initiative that has significantly improved the way transfusion professionals access and share scientific knowledge”.
The Transfusion Evidence Round Up Team curate and disseminate important transfusion medicine literature through quarterly summaries, webinars, congress workshops, and engaging podcasts which has amplified access to evidence-based practice for thousands of transfusion medicine colleagues worldwide.
The ISBT Award is granted to individuals or organisations/teams who have contributed significantly to ISBT and the fields of transfusion medicine and science. This is the first time since 2014 that an ISBT award has been made to a team or organisation.
